Ukraine needs foreign workers: expert revealed about half a million migrants every year
Ukraine is facing serious demographic challenges due to the ongoing war – loss of human resources and rising poverty. Experts point out that the war has affected the migration moods of Ukrainians, forcing many to seek happiness abroad. Despite this, Ukrainian employers are grappling with the problem of labor shortages and are forced to overpay workers, as businesses have issued additional 'bonuses' of 7.5%. To solve the problem of workforce shortages, enterprises are implementing automation and turning to state training programs. However, this situation may lead to the need for radical changes in attracting foreign labor, which is becoming an urgent necessity to ensure the effective functioning of the army, public and private sectors, as well as to support the consumer market. The shortage of labor is particularly vulnerable for the services sector, which constitutes a significant share of the country's GDP. Therefore, automation and training programs are important tools for overcoming the demographic challenges caused by the war.
