Women in Ukraine are mastering male professions: top 3 specialties named

More than 520 enterprises have joined the pilot project to provide women with new career growth opportunities. The initiative helps women acquire popular working professions while companies receive qualified personnel.

According to the State Employment Service of Ukraine, the number of women studying traditionally 'male' professions is continuously growing. Over 920 Ukrainian women are training in specialties that were previously available mainly to men.

Demand for women professionals is increasing

The demand for women mastering new professions is growing every day. Already more than 520 training requests have come from employers willing to hire 960 graduates of the program. Currently, over 460 have already been successfully employed, and 380 continue their training to start in a new field.

• woodworking machine operator - 305 applications,
• boiler operator - 175,
• tractor driver - 164.

There is also a high demand for positions for female forklift drivers, trolleybus drivers, and repair machinists.

On women's retraining

Women's retraining for new professions is taking place due to the mobilization of specialists to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. More than 1000 women have participated in training female truck drivers, which not only grants them the necessary driving licenses but also guarantees employment.

In addition, ten Ukrainian women successfully completed training under the 'Iron Women' program and obtained qualifications as excavator operators and forklift drivers.

The gradual increase in the number of women learning professions traditionally considered 'male' indicates a positive trend in the labor market development in Ukraine. Retraining and support programs for women in new fields help provide them with better opportunities for career advancement and expanding horizons in modern society.
