Ukrainian Cyber Specialists Conduct Major Operation

According to ХВИЛЯ: In a six-month cyber campaign, specialists from Ukraine's Fenix analytical center and the InformNapalm community successfully infiltrated the systems of Russian combat drone operators. This operation uncovered the use of Belarusian infrastructure for attacks against Ukraine and NATO countries, with the acquired intelligence directly enabling successful strikes by Ukraine's Defense Forces. Such cyber operations have become a critical, though often unseen, front in the ongoing conflict.

The hackers gained access to Russian military accounts and monitoring systems, allowing Ukrainian forces to obtain reconnaissance data on drone flight paths. It was revealed that Russia utilized cellular communication towers in Belarus to plot these drone routes. A mass incursion of drones into Poland occurred on the night of September 9-10, 2025, with debris from Gerbera YY-series decoy drones later discovered on Polish and Baltic state territory.

Operational Outcomes and Subsequent Measures

The intelligence gathered from this operation contributed to successful Ukrainian strikes on command posts and launch sites within Russia, as well as locations belonging to the Rubicon unit. In a related diplomatic move, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy imposed sanctions on Alexander Lukashenko on February 18, 2026. The sanctions were a direct response to Russia's deployment of a relay system on Belarusian territory in the latter half of 2025.

Furthermore, a bill to establish dedicated Cyber Forces was approved in principle in October 2025. As noted by Mykhailo Makaruk,

"the bill has long awaited completion of the parliamentary procedure."
