Demand Surges 52% as Ukrainian Businesses Receive $15.6 Million in Compensation for Machinery
State Compensation Program Boosts Ukrainian Enterprises
According to Главком: In March 2026, Ukrainian entrepreneurs will receive 15.6 million UAH in state compensation for industrial machinery purchases. Over the month, businesses bought 41 units of domestically produced equipment, totaling 125.1 million UAH. This marks a significant 52% increase in demand compared to March 2025. The government covers 15% of the cost for each piece of machinery, encouraging investments in modernizing industrial assets.
This partial compensation program has been running since September 2024 as part of the 'Made in Ukraine' initiative. As of April 2026, the Ministry of Economy's list includes 514 product types from 34 manufacturers, reflecting strong domestic production activity.
According to government representative Vitaliy Kindrativ: 'For the second year in a row, we see a March surge in business demand for Ukrainian industrial machinery and equipment. This is a key result of the Made in Ukraine policy: businesses invest in upgrading their equipment, and Ukrainian manufacturers receive additional orders on the domestic market.'
Top Regions for Machinery Sales
Since December 2025, 94 units of machinery worth 291.4 million UAH have been sold, with compensation totaling 36.4 million UAH over this period. Enterprises in the Kyiv region led purchases, accounting for 31 units. Other leading regions for sales include:
- Volyn region
- Kirovohrad region
- Chernihiv region
- Lviv region
- Odesa region
Under the partial compensation program, the total support budget for 2026 is approximately 37 billion UAH. Of this, over 5.6 billion UAH has been allocated to 'Made in Ukraine' initiatives, with 475 million UAH designated for partial compensation of industrial machinery costs. Program requirements include a localization level of at least 40% and involvement of 29 authorized banks. This demonstrates growing support for Ukrainian manufacturers and stimulates the development of national industry.
The rising demand for Ukrainian industrial machinery points to positive economic momentum, likely driven by the effectiveness of state support programs. The implementation of the 'Made in Ukraine' initiative highlights the importance of boosting domestic production and reducing reliance on imports. Continued development of such programs could not only fuel production growth but also create new jobs across the country.
