Mykhaylo Kokhan Earns Silver at USATF LA Grand Prix in Los Angeles

According to Главком: Ukraine's Mykhaylo Kokhan claimed silver at the USATF LA Grand Prix, a gold-tier stop on the World Athletics Continental Tour held in Los Angeles. He achieved a new personal record with a throw of 82.38 meters, but fell just short of winner Yann Chaussinand of France, who managed 82.44 meters. American Rudy Winkler took third place with a mark of 80.43 meters.

The event took place at the stadium named after legendary track and field athlete Allyson Felix, who recently announced her return to professional competition. Reigning Olympic champion Ethan Katzberg did not participate in this meet, leaving the top battle to Chaussinand, Kokhan, and Winkler.

Kokhan's Performance

Kokhan delivered an impressive series of throws. He opened with 78.86 meters, matched that in his second attempt, then improved to 81.00 meters in the third round. His fourth throw reached 79.85 meters, the fifth went 81.23 meters, and in the sixth and final attempt, he launched a personal best of 82.38 meters.

Winner Yann Chaussinand also turned in a standout performance, setting a personal record of 82.44 meters on his third attempt. However, his first two and final two attempts were unsuccessful. Rudy Winkler, rounding out the podium, achieved his best mark on his last throw.
