Yevhen Volnov Claims He Intercepted a Closed-Door Online Briefing

According to Главком: Ukrainian prankster and blogger Yevhen Volnov says he managed to join a confidential online meeting held by Russia’s Ministry of Industry and Trade. According to Volnov, the discussion focused on drone production for the war in Ukraine. In a recording he partially released online, Russian officials are heard acknowledging a critical dependency on foreign-made components.

The recording reveals that 90% of copper wiring used in Russia is imported, as the country does not produce this raw material domestically. Meeting participants also stated that basic electronic parts for drones are supplied from China. At one point, Volnov interrupted the conversation, saying:

“Your cameras recorded everything - now walk around and look over your shoulders.” - Yevhen Volnov

He also published the names of individuals who attended the meeting, including representatives from Russia’s Ministry of Industry and Trade and entities tied to the military-industrial complex. Some of the disclosed contact details have been partially verified, lending credibility to the claims. Volnov added:

“We’re already deep inside your kitchen... This is just the beginning.” - Yevhen Volnov

This incident highlights how digital tools and information warfare are reshaping modern military conflicts.

Challenges for Russia’s Military Industry

The case underscores the difficulties Russia faces due to its reliance on imported components for its military sector, especially under international sanctions. The intelligence gathered during the meeting could have serious implications for Russia’s security and defense strategy, as it exposes vulnerabilities that could be exploited to counter hostile actions.

At the same time, Volnov’s actions demonstrate how emerging technologies and unconventional tactics can influence the course of military conflicts, opening new avenues for gathering intelligence on adversaries.
