Cold weather has come to Ukraine: the forecaster reported when to expect frost

Finally, autumn cold has come to Ukraine. According to forecaster Ihor Kibalchych, cool weather is expected in the near future, due to northwestern circulation conditions that bring air from Scandinavia and the Baltics.

In most regions, light rain is expected, with moderate precipitation in some places, and the wind will strengthen to gusts from the north-west direction.

Weather forecast for Sunday

On Sunday, October 12, light rain is expected in the west of the country at night, but during the day it will be mostly dry. In the evening, precipitation is possible in the Polissya area and the north-west. The temperature at night will be from +4 to +9 °C, during the day +10...+16 °C.

The northern regions will remain under the influence of clouds with no significant precipitation. The wind will blow from the west and northwest, up to 12 m/s. The temperature at night will be +3...+8 °C, during the day +10...+15 °C.

Warning about climate change

The forecaster noted that the cold is actually part of the annual transition between seasons, but it is important to remember that globally, the climate continues to change at alarming rates. Last year, the average temperature on Earth exceeded prehistoric levels by 1.5°C, and in the next century it could rise by nearly another 3°C.

'This is not the worst-case scenario, but it still poses a serious threat to ecosystems and humanity,' Kibalchych warned.

The weather in Ukraine will be cool in the coming days, with expected light precipitation and strengthening winds. The forecaster also reminded about the changes in the climate that could have serious effects on our environment and lives.
