The government changed the heating season deadlines: when to turn on the heat

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has decided on the start and end of the heating season in 2025-2026. From now on, heating will only be turned on when there is a stable drop in temperature, which can conserve energy resources. There are also changes in the provision of housing subsidies - they will be calculated based on income for the first two quarters of 2025.

"In fact, this means that local authorities will only be able to turn on heating in the event of a stable drop in temperature, and Ukrainians will have to wait longer for the start of heat supply."

It is also important to remember that applications for subsidies can be submitted from October 1 to November 30. If an application is submitted during this period, payments will begin from the start of the heating season, so the earlier you apply, the faster you will receive support.

Ukraine is adapting to the new conditions of the heating season and improving the procedures for providing housing subsidies, focusing efforts on preserving heat and optimizing social assistance.
