In Ukraine, the age for drivers has been restricted: who can no longer get behind the wheel
According to hvylya.net: The system of age restrictions implies that the youngest drivers are allowed to operate mopeds and motorcycles from the age of 16, passenger cars and trucks up to 7.5 tons - from the age of 18. For more complex vehicles, such as cars with heavy trailers and buses, the driver's age must be 19 and 21 years respectively.

Ukraine plans to implement European Union rules for drivers over 65 years old starting in 2024. These rules require drivers to undergo psychological testing when renewing their driver's licenses. Currently, there is no upper age limit for issuing driver's licenses in Ukraine.
Violations of age restrictions are punishable by fines. Minors driving vehicles without the appropriate rights face a fine of 3400 hryvnias, and in the case of repeated violations - up to 40800 hryvnias and a 7-year driving ban. Drivers who allow a child to operate a vehicle under the age of 16 are also held accountable.
To obtain a driver's license, it is necessary to successfully pass a theoretical exam at the Ministry of Internal Affairs service center. Candidates have the opportunity to prepare independently or at a driving school. There is also an option to appeal exam results and obtain a video recording of the examination within a certain period.
Despite the fact that the EU has initiatives to lower the driving age, there are currently no such plans in Ukraine. Individuals who do not meet the age requirements for certain categories of transport are not issued driver's licenses regardless of their level of training.
