The tax service cracks down on generator prices: why sellers were called for a conversation

According to hvylya.net: Ukrainian home appliance sellers have raised prices on generators. According to the 'Hvylya' portal, this fact was discussed during a meeting led by acting head of the Tax Service Lesia Karnaukh with representatives of trade networks operating in the electronics and appliance market.

'The last blackout was yet another test of endurance. It is a pity that not everyone has the strength and conscience to pass it with dignity,' Karnaukh commented on her Facebook.

The acting head of the Tax Service received several complaints from consumers who were outraged by the rapid increase in prices for generators. According to her statement, wholesale prices were raised in accordance with demand from retail sellers.

Karnaukh also noted the problem of selling 'grey' appliances. She mentioned that the tax service will respond to such cases and will also monitor price setting to ensure correct tax calculations.

'I really hope that the artificial price increase will be temporary,' she emphasized.

Prices for generators in Ukraine sharply increased immediately after the last blackout, causing outrage among consumers. Authorities promise to respond to artificial price hikes and monitor the situation with 'grey' appliance sales.
