The project 'Integrated Urban Restoration in Ukraine' (JGURA) was launched in Kyiv. The initiative promotes socially just, climate-friendly, and sustainable approaches to urban restoration and revitalization, and is implemented with the support of the governments of Germany and Switzerland, the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development reported.
The project facilitates the recovery and modernization of Ukrainian cities according to EU standards – with a focus on sustainable, inclusive development and improving the quality of life for people. During the launch, six cities - Vinnytsia, Lviv, Zhytomyr, Rivne, Khmelnytskyi, and Kryvyi Rih - signed memoranda of cooperation with the project, becoming its first official partners.

The project supports integrated urban restoration in Ukraine in the context of the process of gaining membership in the European Union.
The initiative is based on the principles of the New Leipzig Charter - a European framework strategy for sustainable urban development, as well as the New European Bauhaus initiative launched by the European Commission, which combines the ecological objectives of the European Green Deal with cultural and social dimensions based on the values of sustainability, inclusiveness, and aesthetics.
JGURA also creates a platform for learning and knowledge exchange between Ukrainian and international sister cities, urban planners, architects, and civil society representatives.
