A large-scale housing project for IDPs will be launched in Ukraine: details
The government of Ukraine has approved a plan to provide housing for internally displaced persons from the Mariupol community. According to the Ministry of Community Development and Territories, the city of Bila Tserkva in Kyiv region will build a full-fledged quarter of municipal housing for Mariupol residents.
The plan includes the construction of municipal rental housing and preferential mortgage lending for Mariupol residents in need of state support. Oleksiy Kuleba, Deputy Prime Minister, emphasized: 'this is the first large-scale project of its kind that has every chance of becoming a model for the new housing policy of the state.'
'In the first stage, it is planned to build 10 residential buildings in Bila Tserkva. This municipal rental housing will be provided to displaced persons on social terms through a transparent distribution system. This will ensure housing for more than 1,500 Mariupol residents,' Oleksiy Kuleba emphasized.
The construction of three residential complexes includes 1218 apartments with a total area of 96 thousand m², where more than 3 thousand people can live. The infrastructure of the quarter will include apartments for people with reduced mobility, kindergartens, services, trade, and community spaces.
