Valerii Kharchyshyn on Brezhneva: An Incorrect Choice Regarding the Russian Language

According to glavcom.ua: Musical performer Valerii Kharchyshyn expressed his opinion on the civic position of former 'VIA Gra' member Vera Brezhneva, with whom he has now formed a duet of the band 'Duga Rika'. Kharchyshyn supported the decision to collaborate with Brezhneva and choose Ukrainian identity.

'She chose her identity. She is Ukrainian. If she switched to Ukrainian, if she chose Ukraine, identifying herself as Ukrainian – then this is normal,' – Kharchyshyn said.

Regarding Brezhneva's tours in the countries of the former USSR and her singing in Russian, Kharchyshyn believes that this is not the best decision. He urged to focus on promoting the Ukrainian language and culture, as it is less known to the world.
