TV Host Slava Solomka Opens Up About Brain Tumor and HIV Status
Slava Solomka's Health Journey
According to Главком: Ukrainian television host Slava Solomka has shared personal health details in an interview with Slava Dyomin. During a 2016 MRI scan prompted by a seizure, doctors discovered an unexpected growth in his brain. Solomka explained that the diagnosis came by chance while he was undergoing tests for epilepsy symptoms. Currently, he is monitoring the condition, as the growth has not increased in size.
“I needed to have an MRI and various tests. I just had a seizure, so they ran checks to see what was going on. They found it back in 2016, about ten years ago,” Solomka said.
Solomka stressed that his health requires attention, but admitted he is unsure of the exact nature of the finding: “It’s a task, a problem that needs solving. I need treatment. It’s some kind of growth. It could be a cyst. It could be benign or malignant. It could be a congenital condition.”
Ongoing Health Monitoring
Currently, Solomka is keeping a close watch on the growth: “I’m just monitoring it. Making sure it’s okay. It’s not growing, and that’s the most important thing.” He also addressed long-standing rumors about his HIV status, which have circulated since 2015–2016. Solomka works for Kyiv’s municipal television channel and has been declared unfit for military service.
As a well-known public figure in Ukraine, Solomka’s health condition-particularly the brain growth-has sparked both interest and concern among the public. His proactive approach to monitoring his health reflects a responsible attitude. This interview also highlights the importance of public awareness around epilepsy and other neurological conditions, as well as the value of regular medical checkups.
The details of the interview and Solomka’s health status were reported by the outlet Glavkom.
