The government has approved: drivers will be able to keep their car numbers through Diya

Previously, to 'reserve' an old license plate, it had to be physically handed over for storage at the MVS Service Center. This required an additional visit and time.

Ukrainian drivers will no longer need to waste time traveling to the MVS Service Centers to save their favorite car numbers when changing vehicles or technical passports. Thanks to new services that will soon be launched in the 'Diya' application, managing license plates will fully move online. The government has already approved this step.

• Now everything is different:

• Your license plate physically remains at home. No more bureaucracy and visits to institutions.

• The information about the storage of the number is recorded 'digitally' in the state register.

This means that drivers will be able to online, through 'Diya', keep their license plates after re-registering the vehicle or replacing the technical passport. And then, just as easily, assign them to the new car.

Experts from the Main Service Center of the MVS note that digitization significantly simplifies the life of car owners, but they urge caution:

• Keep track of the term: If you are using paid license plate storage, it is critically important to extend it in time. If you do not extend the reservation before the paid period expires, you risk losing your license plate!

• Use the E-Cabinet: Even before the launch of new features in 'Diya', many services, such as extending the storage of numbers or ordering individual plates, are already available in the Electronic Driver's Cabinet. This helps save time.

With the new service in the 'Diya' mobile app, Ukrainian drivers will be able to store their license plates online without the need to visit the MVS Service Centers in person. This will simplify the process of changing a car or technical passport, making it more convenient and faster for residents of the country.
