According to the new rules, Ukrainians and citizens of other third countries who arrive in EU countries for a short period of up to 90 days will now undergo digital registration. The system will record the time, date, and place of border crossing, as well as collect biometric data such as photographs and fingerprints for individuals over the age of 12.

The State Customs Service of Ukraine has warned citizens about the start of new checks at the Polish-Ukrainian border, reports 'Khvylya'. From November 3, a new pan-European Entry/Exit System (EES) has come into effect, replacing old stamps in passports when crossing the borders of the Schengen zone.

The introduction of the EES is aimed at enhancing security, speeding up border control, and accurately accounting for the duration of foreign citizens' stay in the Schengen zone. The new system will help more effectively detect violations of stay durations and simplify monitoring of migration flows, reports the European Border and Coast Guard Agency (Frontex).

It is also emphasized that travelers should familiarize themselves with the rules of the new system in advance, take potential queues into account, and plan trips with sufficient time margin. It is necessary to have documents that confirm the purpose of the visit and duration of stay to avoid misunderstandings during registration. The gradual implementation of the EES will extend to other border checkpoints of EU countries in the coming months.

The new border registration system with the EU is designed to enhance security and monitor migration flows in the Schengen zone. Ukrainians and foreign citizens should familiarize themselves with the new rules to avoid misunderstandings and inconveniences when crossing the border.
