IDPs will receive assistance from 2000 to 3000 hryvnias: who is entitled to payments
The Chairman of the Pension Fund of Ukraine, Yevhen Kapyunus, announced that internally displaced persons from temporarily occupied territories or areas of active combat can receive living assistance ranging from 2000 to 3000 hryvnias. He noted that pensioners are a very vulnerable category of the population, especially in wartime conditions.
'Pensioners are one of the most vulnerable categories of the population, especially in wartime. Therefore, we consider it our main task to ensure timely pension payments to every pensioner,' emphasized Kapyunus.
Additionally, everyone who has relocated from temporarily occupied territories or areas of combat and received IDP status can receive financial support from the state. For the most vulnerable categories of citizens, international organizations are also providing payments for solid fuel to residents of frontline territories.
Compensation for Veteran IDPs
Veterans among IDPs who do not have their own housing can now receive compensation for rent. The support program for frontline territories also assists initial IDP families in purchasing housing by compensating part of the rental and mortgage costs.
The government also plans to provide an additional 'bonus' compensation for working-age IDPs who are officially employed, under the condition of continuous work experience for six months after relocation.
The Ukrainian Pension Fund provides financial assistance to internally displaced persons and veteran combat participants in order to support socially vulnerable categories of the population and alleviate their living conditions in the context of war and conflict. The state support program responds to the real needs of people who find themselves in challenging life circumstances due to the armed conflict in the country.
