YASNO CEO Details Flaws in New Power Outage Schedules
Serhiy Kovalenko's Statement on New Electricity Blackout Schedules
According to ХВИЛЯ: YASNO's CEO, Serhiy Kovalenko, has addressed the issues plaguing the new temporary power outage schedules, which were implemented due to severe strain on Ukraine's energy grid. In a Facebook post on the evening of January 30, he outlined three critical discrepancies that are preventing consumers from effectively planning their electricity use. These schedules are a response to Russia's ongoing attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure, which have caused widespread damage.
Key Issues Identified
- The schedules lack specific addresses, making it difficult for consumers to identify when their own power will be cut.
- The schedule posted online does not match the actual blackouts occurring on the ground, leading to confusion and inconvenience.
- Two different schedules are being displayed for a single address, further complicating the situation.
Kovalenko explained that his team had to build these new schedules from scratch, as they function completely differently from previous versions. He stressed that while colleagues conducted trial runs, perfecting the system in a single day was an immense challenge. The temporary schedules, in his view, are an attempt to bring order to the chaos and offer at least some possibility for planning. However, emergency outages remain a constant threat, and Kovalenko noted that freezing temperatures are also a pressing concern.
To correct errors, consumers are advised to submit a request via the DTEK Kyiv Grids website. The address database is being updated regularly, and distribution system operators (DSOs) are already working to ensure that only one correct schedule is displayed across all services. These steps aim to improve the situation and provide consumers with more accurate information about power cuts.
In an unstable energy environment, it is crucial for consumers to receive up-to-date information on outage schedules.

The problems highlighted by Kovalenko can significantly disrupt daily life for people who rely on electricity for work and essential needs. Resolving these issues is a priority for energy companies, as timely and correct information can help reduce stress and uncertainty among consumers.
