Medical check-up program for Ukrainians over 40

As of January 1, 2026, a medical examination program will be launched in Ukraine for citizens aged 40 and over. The government has allocated 10 billion hryvnias in next year's budget for this initiative.

This program provides free preventive examinations, paid for by the state through the 'Diia' app. After turning 40, Ukrainians will receive notifications with invitations to undergo diagnostics. Funds will be automatically credited to a virtual card in 'Diia', and individuals will independently choose a facility where they will undergo the examination.

Goals of the program from the Ministry of Health of Ukraine

Health Minister Viktor Liashko noted that this program is aimed at early detection of cardiovascular and oncological diseases, which are the main causes of mortality among older Ukrainians.

'We want to detect the disease at early stages and save lives, rather than treat already advanced diseases,' Liashko emphasized on television.

Let us remind you that Ukrainians also have the opportunity to receive 85 more free medications thanks to the 'Affordable Medicines' program.
