Salary up to 36,000 UAH: employers are massively looking for inexperienced youth

Ukrainian employers are increasingly willing to hire students and candidates without experience, offering training after employment. Most vacancies are concentrated in retail, and in certain positions, salaries exceed 36,000 UAH. This is reported by RBK-Ukraine referring to OLX Work research.

Jobs for inexperienced youth in Ukraine: where youth is most often sought

Most announcements for young candidates are published in retail, sales, and purchasing. The most common vacancy is a salesperson: over the year, the number of offers increased by 12%, and the median salary reached 25,350 UAH.

Young people are also offered cashier jobs with a median salary of 25,845 UAH, a sales consultant for 25,475 UAH, a baker for 33,300 UAH, and a sales manager for 27,750 UAH.

There is notable demand in logistics, delivery, and construction. Workers are offered an average of 29,159 UAH, drivers 33,500 UAH, laborers 25,250 UAH, and builders 36,750 UAH.

Salaries for youth have increased by 15-27% over the year

According to OLX Work, median salaries for many popular positions have increased. The highest dynamics were recorded for sales consultants, drivers, and builders.

• salespeople: +18%, to 25,350 UAH;
• sales consultants: +27%, to 25,475 UAH;
• drivers: +26%, to 33,500 UAH;
• builders: +21%, to 36,750 UAH;
• cargo handlers: +20%, to 29,159 UAH;
• cashiers: +15%, to 25,845 UAH.

In the HoReCa sector, young people are also needed as cooks, waiters, and baristas. The median salary for a cook is 33,150 UAH, for a waiter 22,625 UAH, and for a barista 21,400 UAH.

In which regions has the number of job vacancies for youth increased

The largest labor market for young candidates remains Kyiv region, although the number of offers there has hardly changed over the year, with a decrease of 1%.

Demand grew fastest in the Transcarpathian region, by 26%, Zhytomyr, by 24%, Lviv, by 23%, Volyn, by 20%, and Kirovohrad, by 18%.

At the same time, the number of vacancies decreased in Sumy region, by 28%, as well as in Poltava and Dnipropetrovsk, both by 20%. The personnel deficit forces companies to simplify requirements and more often train employees on the job: 50% of employers are ready to hire people without experience, and 37% plan to attract youth with further training.
