Border guard fell asleep on duty: court imposed a fine of 17 thousand hryvnias
According to glavcom.ua: In the Mohyliv-Podilskyi city district court, a case was heard regarding the violation of the border service by a serviceman. According to the case materials, the inspector failed to monitor the adherence to the state border regime as he fell asleep at the post. The court issued a verdict in the form of a fine of 17 thousand UAH, as well as court fees in the amount of 605 UAH. The serviceman's lawyer appealed this decision.
The serviceman himself denied his guilt, and his lawyer filed an appeal against the court's decision.
Also, in Vinnytsia region, the fish protection patrol detected a poacher causing environmental damage of 30 thousand UAH. The man used prohibited means for fishing, resulting in significant harm to nature.
Both cases highlight the importance of obeying the law and the responsibility for violations of border service and environmental protection.
