Law on monthly payments for former captive soldiers

The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed law No. 13627, which provides for monthly payments in the amount of 50 thousand hryvnias for servicemen released from captivity and those in need of long-term inpatient treatment. This information was made public on the official portal of the Verkhovna Rada.

The document is aimed at expanding state support for former captive soldiers. Now everyone who has suffered injuries or illnesses during captivity can receive payments, avoiding bureaucratic obstacles.

As emphasized by MP from the Servant of the People party Anna Purtova, the new payments are additional financial support, not treatment payments. 'This money is not for treatment, as it is fully covered by the state. These payments are support for a person who still cannot return to work or service,' she noted.

Purtova also stressed that soldiers cannot be denied payments if they submit a complete set of documents and undergo a medical commission that confirms their health status.

In particular, in addition to monthly payments, servicemen will receive a 'frozen' exemption regarding vacations.

The signed law on monthly payments for former captive soldiers in Ukraine provides for financial support of 50 thousand hryvnias for those in need of long-term inpatient treatment or who have been released from captivity. This will help ensure additional support for those who still cannot return to a full life or work.
