Ukraine's Zelenskyy Dismisses Iranian Threats, Offers Air Defense Aid
Ukrainian President Responds to Iranian Warnings
According to Главком: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has responded to threats from Iran concerning Ukraine's potential support for Gulf states in the field of air defense. The head of the Iranian parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, Ebrahim Azizi, stated that the involvement of Ukrainian specialists in countering Iranian drones in the Middle East could make Ukraine a legitimate target for attacks by the Islamic Republic.
Zelenskyy noted that he does not consider these statements new, as he has heard similar remarks over the last four years.
"We are not afraid of such statements. We hear such statements every day for the last four years-or more precisely, 12 years. For us, this is not news,"
the president said. He also emphasized that it is important for Ukraine that the United States and Middle Eastern leaders have requested help with drone interceptors and air defense expertise.
"Air defense is not about offensive capabilities. That is why I said we are ready to help with this expertise and with defensive systems,"
Zelenskyy added. This exchange highlights how Ukraine's battlefield experience has made it a potential exporter of critical military knowledge.
Middle Eastern Nations Seek Ukrainian Assistance
In the context of this situation, it is worth noting that Middle Eastern countries have turned to Ukraine for assistance with drone interceptors and air defense expertise. It is also known that Ukraine proposed a drone deal to the United States approximately a year ago. The goal of this deal was to establish an export infrastructure for Ukrainian drones, artificial intelligence-based technologies, and electronic warfare systems.
U.S. President Donald Trump has expressed the view that the United States does not require Ukraine's help in countering Iranian attacks.
As tensions escalate, the implications of Ukraine's military support extend beyond its borders. This situation is further complicated by the stance of U.S. President Donald Trump, who recently commented on the necessity of Ukraine's drone assistance, suggesting that while the U.S. may not require it, Russia could potentially bolster Iran's capabilities.
