Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated about the illegal detention of Ukrainian children in Russia and the importance of involving the international community for their return. According to him, around 19,500 Ukrainian children may be outside the control of the hostile state.
Zelensky also noted that about 400 places of detention for abducted children have been identified in Russia, and the search and return of the children represent a serious and multi-stage process.
As a result of cooperation with U.S. intelligence agencies, over 1,600 Ukrainian children have been returned home so far. However, the problem remains relevant, as Ukrainian children are held hostage by Russian occupiers.
