Zelensky: Stopping Putin through talks is impossible, pressure is needed
The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky explained that stopping the Russian dictator Volodymyr Putin through talks is impossible. He noted that Ukraine has never sought war and has always looked for ways to peace.
'We agreed to an unconditional ceasefire, sought opportunities for peace, and repeatedly proposed to the world to stop strikes in the sky, on land, and at sea. But it is Russia that constantly hinders this process - manipulates, drags out negotiations, terrorizes people with aerial strikes, escalates assaults on the front. The war continues only because Moscow does not wish to end it,' Zelensky emphasized.
The President also noted that attacks by Russian terrorists on critical and civilian infrastructure pose a significant threat to Ukraine. According to Zelensky, this week alone, over 3,270 strike drones, 1,370 guided aviation bombs, and about 50 missiles of various types were used against Ukraine.
Pressure on Putin is needed
Zelensky called for international pressure on Putin, as Russia only responds to force. The President refused to negotiate with Putin, believing that a resolute stance against terrorists must be maintained. He also hopes for the support of partners from the USA, Europe, and other countries to protect the lives of Ukrainians.
In his statement, President Zelensky noted that Ukraine continues to seek ways to peacefully resolve the conflict, but without effective pressure on the Russian authorities, this is impossible. He urged other countries of the world to support Ukraine in its efforts to defend its citizens and territory from Russian aggression.
