Expert on the energy crisis: Why winter in Ukraine will be harsh
According to hvylya.net: Energy expert Viktor Kurtev has offered a pessimistic forecast for the upcoming winter, considering the ongoing attacks on the energy infrastructure. According to him, Ukraine is facing a 'hard winter' that will lead to increased social tension and force the government to seek scapegoats for the issues in the energy sector.
The expert emphasized that Russian attacks are aimed at the energy 'interface' through the Dnieper, intending to cut off left-bank Ukraine from electricity from the right bank, which threatens major cities like Kharkiv and Zaporizhzhia. Kurtev also noted that energy conditions will be worse further to the western border.
'Winter will be tough. Tension in society will increase,' warned the expert.
According to Kurtev, the government will be forced to respond to public dissatisfaction due to the emergency situation. He highlighted the inefficiency of the existing management system under wartime conditions and missile strikes, thus proposing a transition to a new type of mobilization energy and economy.
Kurtev warns of a difficult winter in Ukraine, where serious issues may arise due to attacks on the energy system, leading to social tension and requiring serious measures from the authorities.
