13 deputies did not appear in the Verkhovna Rada for a year: who are they and why are they not excluded
Absent Deputies of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine
According to Главком: In Ukraine, 13 people's deputies did not attend the sessions of the Verkhovna Rada for a year. Among them are deputies who are in remand prisons, have fled abroad, or simply do not show up at their workplace. Despite their long absence, these deputies are still not excluded from parliament.

It is worth noting that there were not enough votes to exclude Oleksandr Kunitzky by 14 votes, and to exclude Oleksandr Dubinsky by six votes. Nestor Shufrych and Yevhen Shevchenko remain suspects in state treason. Recently, the Verkhovna Rada adopted bill No. 3195 on the mandatory reporting of Cabinet members.
The situation with absent deputies highlights a serious problem in the functioning of the parliament of Ukraine, as the absence of representatives affects the adoption of important decisions. The presence of deputies who are under investigation or have fled abroad raises questions about the responsibility and oversight of the actions of elected representatives.
Adopted legislative initiatives, such as bill No. 3195, may be a step towards increasing transparency and accountability of government officials.
