The Verkhovna Rada has adopted the Law on Mentoring: what it will change for children
According to Міністерство соц. політики: Today, December 18, the Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada voted for the Law on Mentoring under number 13200. 259 deputies voted for this law. The document establishes the rules and foundations of mentoring activities and forms state policy in this area.
The law defines mentoring as a free voluntary activity aimed at supporting children and youth who need constant attention and assistance from adults. The document provides for the definition of categories of people who can receive mentoring, establishes conditions for individual and group mentoring, requirements for mentor candidates, creates a social service for organizing mentoring, and monitoring and supervision of this activity.
The Law on Mentoring creates the necessary legal framework for supporting children and youth in need of assistance and regulates relationships in the field of mentoring. This is an important step towards improving the well-being of children and youth in Ukraine.
