Memorial Day of Saints Martyrs Akapsim, Joseph, and Aital
On November 3, the Orthodox Church honors the memory of three martyrs who suffered for their faith in the 4th century during the brutal persecutions of the Persian King Shapur II.
The Martyr Akapsim was a bishop and led a pious life. In old age, he was captured and forced to renounce Christ, but he remained unwavering. For this, he was subjected to brutal torture.
The Martyr Joseph was a presbyter (priest), and the Martyr Aital was a deacon. They were students and followers of Akapsim. When they were arrested, they also demonstrated incredible endurance.
All three saints did not succumb to torture and were executed, witnessing their faith with a martyr's death.
Prayers of the day
O, holy martyrs of Christ Akapsim, Joseph, and Aital! You, by your courage and unwavering faith, glorified the name of the Lord, pray to God for us, the sinners. Strengthen us in faith, grant us the strength of spirit so that we can withstand temptations and enemies. Ask the Lord for us forgiveness of sins, peace, and blessing.
Amen

- Clear and sunny weather – predicts soon cooling and a frosty winter.
- If there is hoarfrost on the trees – expect warming.
