Проблеми з газопостачанням в Україні: як захистити себе та свою родину?

Ukrainians are starting to get used to possible power outages, but the gas deficit this winter could become a new challenge. The president of the 'Gas Traders of Ukraine' association, Andriy Myzovets, explained in an interview with 'Glavkom' the consequences that damage to gas infrastructure due to Russian strikes could have, who will have to be left without gas first, and why residents of high-rise buildings should expect a decrease in gas pressure in the network.

«If problems start, the first to stop receiving supplies will be industrial enterprises. The population and heat producers will be cut off last. Therefore, it is better to prepare in advance,» – emphasized Myzovets.

According to the expert, the amount of gas supplied during a pressure drop is influenced by the distance to the main pipeline: the closer you are, the more gas you get. In large cities, gas is the main source of heat, so without it, heating will be complicated. Although there are alternatives such as fuel oil or coal, it is not a fact that they can provide the necessary volumes. Everything depends on the technical capabilities of local heat producers to maintain the system at low gas pressure.

Andriy Myzovets emphasized the importance of preparing for possible gas supply problems due to potential outages. He also pointed out that an effective warning and rapid response system to problems can help avoid serious consequences for the population and industrial facilities.
