Departure of the Archbishop of the UOC-MP

According to Главком: Archbishop of the UOC-MP Isaakiy Vorzel'skiy, also known as Fedir Pylypovych Andronik, has likely left Ukraine following the publication of information about the underground school at the UOC-MP monastery in Kyiv. According to sources, the archbishop left Ukraine at 23:10 on January 7, crossing the border into Moldova through the Mogyliv-Podilskyi-Otach checkpoint.

Problems with the underground school

The underground school operating at the "Holosiivska Pustyn" monastery has raised concerns among Ukrainian law enforcement. This school has over 60 children enrolled, with 16 teachers involved in its activities. As a result, the Security Service of Ukraine has initiated a check regarding the legality of this institution's operations.

Furthermore, the Minister of Education and Science Serhiy Lisovyi announced an inspection of schools whose students attended the underground school. These actions are aimed at:

  • ensuring compliance with education norms and standards in Ukraine;
  • detecting possible violations related to the educational process in institutions associated with underground activities.

The emergence of the situation surrounding the underground school at the UOC-MP monastery may indicate larger issues in the education system and oversight of educational institutions in Ukraine. Inspections initiated by the Ministry of Education and the SBU could impact the operations of similar institutions and raise new questions regarding their legitimacy and compliance with current legislation.

The archbishop's departure from the country may have further consequences for both the religious community and society as a whole, particularly in the context of ensuring the safety of children and adherence to educational standards.
