Australia has transferred Abrams tanks to Ukraine
According to glavcom.ua: On Saturday, July 19, the Australian government confirmed the transfer of Abrams tanks to Ukraine as part of a defense package worth A$245 million. This was reported by Reuters, citing a statement from the country's Defense Minister Richard Marles, as reported by 'Glavkom'.
According to Marles, most of the 49 M1A1 Abrams tanks have already been delivered to the Ukrainian side, and the remainder is expected to arrive in the coming months.
«The M1A1 Abrams tanks will make a significant contribution to Ukraine's fight against Russia's illegal and immoral invasion», emphasized the minister.
The Australian government reminded that the total volume of military aid to Ukraine has already reached A$1.5 billion since the beginning of the full-scale war. Additionally, the country has imposed a number of restrictions against Russia, including exports of bauxite and aluminum ores. Sanctions have also been imposed against about 1000 individuals and legal entities from the Russian Federation.
The government also decided to send a plane to Poland to secure the routes for humanitarian and military aid delivery to Ukraine. This decision was made at the request of NATO and the Polish government. This was reported by 'Glavkom', citing News.com.au.
