According to glavcom.ua: In Azerbaijan, all Russian cultural events are being canceled due to acts of violence and the killing of Azerbaijanis in Russia. This applies to concerts, festivals, exhibitions, etc., planned to take place on the territory of Azerbaijan. Citizens with tickets to such events can return them through the relevant sales points or online platforms.

“Considering the demonstrative, targeted, and extrajudicial killings and acts of violence committed by the law enforcement agencies of Russia against Azerbaijanis on ethnic grounds in Yekaterinburg, and also taking into account that similar cases have recently become systematic, cultural events, including concerts, festivals, performances, etc., planned to be held in Azerbaijan by representatives of state and private institutions of Russia, are canceled.”

Moreover, police raids on Azerbaijani citizens were conducted in Russia, during which suspects in a murder that occurred back in 2001 were detained. One of the main suspects died of a heart attack when law enforcement arrived.

According to Russian law enforcement, the raids were conducted as part of the investigation of criminal cases from previous years. The number of detainees remains unknown.

As a result of the conflict between Russia and Azerbaijan, the Azerbaijani side decided to cancel all cultural events that were supposed to be held by Russian institutions in their country. This was a result of the persecution and violence faced by Azerbaijanis in Russia. In addition, there were police raids on Azerbaijani citizens in Russia, during which several individuals were detained on suspicion of murder. One of the suspects even died after detention from a heart attack when law enforcement arrived. These events indicate a deterioration in relations between the countries and serious problems in the field of interethnic relations.
