Bloggers Held Administratively Liable for Prank Video

According to Главком: Two Ukrainian bloggers have been charged with administrative offenses for filming a humorous video while dressed in police uniforms. According to the Kyiv police press service, the men, aged 24 and 26, produced a video showing them, in uniform, detaining a young man. The participants claimed they created the content as a joke to increase their online views. This incident highlights the strict legal boundaries in Ukraine regarding the use of state symbols, especially during wartime when maintaining institutional authority is a heightened priority.

The Pechersk District Police Department, working with criminal analysts, identified the individuals and conducted a preventive conversation with them. Administrative reports were filed against the men under Article 184-3 of Ukraine's Code of Administrative Offenses, which prohibits the illegal use of the name or identifying features of the National Police of Ukraine.

Previous Incidents

This is not an isolated case. Previously, Kyiv law enforcement held a 20-year-old local resident accountable for posting social media videos where he, wearing a police uniform, performed Russian songs containing profanity. The provocative content was discovered by police during routine internet monitoring. In one video, the young man was seen in uniform singing Russian songs with explicit lyrics.

These cases demonstrate the increasing attention law enforcement is paying to content that could undermine the authority of the National Police. They also underscore the necessity of adhering to laws governing the use of official uniforms. Such incidents generate public debate and raise questions about the ethics of creating social media content that may trivialize serious professional roles.

Law enforcement officials continue to monitor the situation to prevent similar offenses in the future.
