According to hvylya.net: A new substitute for the popular messenger Telegram is rapidly spreading in Russia - Telega. It is advertised as a means to avoid call blocking.
This was reported by the Center for Countering Disinformation.
However, IT specialists have discovered that the app uses the infrastructure of VK and the state messenger MAX, which is controlled by the Russian government. This allows the authorities to censor, control user communication, and collect their personal data.
'This is yet another tool for censorship and control over citizens. Russia is gradually building a digital concentration camp where even an attempt to protect one's privacy can become a trap,' the Center for Countering Disinformation explained.
Russia is developing a new messenger Telega to restrict access to information and control citizens' communications, raising serious questions about privacy and freedom of speech in the country.
