Fuel Price Update for April 3: Current Costs for A-95 Gasoline and Diesel
Latest Fuel Prices in Ukraine
According to Главком: As of April 3, 2026, fuel station networks in Ukraine have updated their prices. The average cost for A-95 gasoline is now 72.87 UAH per liter, while diesel fuel averages 88.01 UAH per liter. In some networks, A-95 gasoline has become cheaper by about 9 kopiykas, whereas A-95+ has dropped by over 3 UAH. The price of A-92 gasoline has also fallen by roughly 9 kopiykas per liter. On average, autogas (LPG) has decreased in price by about 60 kopiykas.
Factors Driving Price Increases
According to reports, the most expensive diesel is offered by the Okko, WOG, and Socar networks, while the cheapest fuel is available at Ukrnafta and BRSM-Nafta. It is important to note that from March 20 to May 1, the 'National Cashback' program is in effect, offering 15% cashback on diesel, 10% on gasoline, and 5% on autogas. The maximum cashback amount is up to 1,000 UAH per person per month.
The primary objective factor influencing the price increase has been the shutdown of Ukraine's largest oil refinery. Pavlo Kyrylenko, Head of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine
Serhiy Kuyun, an industry expert, added that there is no diesel fuel shortage, nor is one anticipated, as supply volumes in March remained at 2025 levels.
Other factors contributing to the rise in fuel prices include:
- increased demand volumes,
- reduced supply and reserves,
- rising costs for logistics services.
It is also crucial to highlight that the actual cost of purchasing petroleum products is rising, and the forecast for further increases in the cost price of these products is causing concern among consumers. This complicates the comparison of fuel storage conditions and volumes within Ukraine.
These fuel price updates reflect the complex economic situation in Ukraine's energy sector, including its reliance on imports and the halt of key refining capacities. For context, Ukraine's fuel market remains sensitive to global price trends and domestic logistical challenges. While the 'National Cashback' program can be a useful tool to alleviate financial pressure on drivers, the overall economic situation requires careful attention and monitoring from consumers planning their fuel expenses.
