Ukraine's Latest Fuel Price Adjustments

According to Главком: Fuel prices in Ukraine were updated as of April 17, 2026. The average cost for a liter of A-95 gasoline is now 74.05 UAH, while diesel fuel has reached 91.88 UAH per liter. Diesel saw a slight price drop after one major filling station network reduced the cost of diesel and DP+ fuel by 1 UAH per liter. The most expensive fuel is currently offered by the Okko, WOG, and Socar networks, whereas Ukrnafta and BRSM-Nafta are selling at the lowest prices. These fluctuations are common in a market heavily reliant on imported petroleum products.

National Fuel Rebate Program

A national fuel cashback program is active from March 20 to May 1, 2026. Under this scheme, the rebate rates are as follows:

  • 15% on diesel
  • 10% on gasoline
  • 5% on autogas

The maximum cashback amount for an individual is up to 1,000 UAH per month. Despite the rising costs, government officials assure the public that

"there is no diesel fuel shortage, nor is one anticipated,"

stated Serhii Kuyun. He noted that diesel supply volumes in March remained consistent with 2025 levels.

Simultaneously, diesel prices in Ukraine have surged by 33.9%. The primary objective factor driving this increase is the country's heavy reliance on imported oil products, which accounts for over 85% of its light petroleum product supply. Pavlo Kyrylenko explained that the situation became critical after the shutdown of Ukraine's largest oil refinery. Other factors contributing to the fuel price hike include rising demand, shrinking supply and reserves, increased logistics costs, and the inability to maintain comparable fuel storage conditions and volumes within Ukraine.

Given these price volatilities, consumers continue to seek savings opportunities, particularly through cashback programs that can help offset fuel expenses. For many drivers, such rebates are a crucial tool for managing household budgets during periods of economic strain.

The latest fuel price update highlights a complex market situation in Ukraine, driven by import dependency and halted refining capacity. As prices climb, cashback initiatives become increasingly important for consumers looking to mitigate the financial burden. These programs can serve as a vital support mechanism for maintaining economic stability among the population.
