Fuel Prices in Ukraine Updated: Here’s What Gasoline and Diesel Now Cost
Ukrainian Fuel Price Update
According to Главком: As of April 30, 2026, gas station networks across Ukraine have refreshed their fuel pricing. The average cost of A-95 gasoline now stands at 73.03 hryvnias per liter, while diesel fuel has climbed to an average of 88.03 hryvnias per liter. To help offset these costs, the 'National Cashback' program has been extended through May 31, 2026. Starting May 1, 2026, users can receive a maximum monthly rebate of up to 500 hryvnias.
Notably, diesel prices in Ukraine have surged by 33.9%. This increase comes despite stable diesel supply volumes in March 2026, which remained on par with 2025 levels. According to Pavlo Kyrylenko, head of the Antimonopoly Committee, a key driver behind the price hike is the fact that after the country’s largest oil refinery shut down, nearly 85% of light petroleum products now rely on imports.
Fuel Prices Across Station Networks
Pricing varies by gas station chain, based on the latest data:
- At UPG stations: A-95 gasoline costs 72.90 hryvnias, diesel 86.90 hryvnias.
- At OKKO stations: A-95 gasoline costs 75.90 hryvnias, diesel 89.90 hryvnias.
- At KLO stations: A-95 gasoline costs 70.70 hryvnias, diesel 85.90 hryvnias.
- At SOCAR stations: A-95 gasoline costs 75.90 hryvnias, diesel 89.90 hryvnias.
- At Ukrnafta stations: A-95 gasoline costs 69.90 hryvnias, diesel 86.90 hryvnias.
The 'National Cashback' initiative, active since March 20, 2026, offers rebates of 15% on diesel, 10% on gasoline, and 5% on autogas. Under this program, maximum savings reach up to 11 hryvnias per liter on diesel, 7 hryvnias per liter on gasoline, and 2 hryvnias per liter on autogas.
Several factors explain the recent price changes:
- rising demand volumes,
- declining supply and inventory levels,
- increased actual purchase costs for petroleum products,
- higher logistics service expenses.
Another contributing issue is the inability to compare storage conditions and capacities for fuel within Ukraine.
The fuel market situation in Ukraine raises ongoing concerns about a potential diesel shortage in the future. With heavy reliance on imports and climbing prices, Ukrainian consumers are increasingly turning to cashback programs and other station offers to save money.
Rising fuel prices in Ukraine could have a significant economic impact, as higher fuel costs directly affect both consumer and business spending.
The 'National Cashback' program aims to cushion some of these expenses for consumers, but sustained price increases may eventually dampen fuel demand. Moving forward, it will be crucial to monitor market shifts and any government measures designed to stabilize prices and ensure the country’s energy security.
