Fuel Prices in Ukraine See a Drop: Current Costs for Gasoline and Diesel as of April 10
Ukraine's Latest Fuel Price Update
According to Главком: As of April 10, 2026, fuel prices in Ukraine have been adjusted. The average price for A-95 gasoline now stands at 74.05 UAH per liter, while diesel fuel costs 90.88 UAH per liter. Price reductions are currently in effect at stations operated by the WOG, KLO, and BRSM-Nafta networks. Conversely, the most expensive fuel is offered by the Okko, WOG, and Socar chains. The cheapest fuel can be found at Ukrnafta and BRSM-Nafta filling stations.
'National Cashback' Program Launched
A 'National Cashback' program has been active in Ukraine since March 20, 2026, offering compensation to consumers:
- 15% on diesel purchases
- 10% on gasoline
- 5% on autogas (LPG)
The maximum cashback amount is up to 1,000 UAH per person per month. This relief program is scheduled to run until May 1. This initiative is part of government efforts to shield citizens from volatile energy costs.
Despite the recent dip, diesel prices in Ukraine have surged by 33.9% overall. Supply volumes for diesel in March remained consistent with 2025 levels. According to Pavlo Kyrylenko, the primary objective factor driving the price increase is Ukraine's reliance on imports for 85% of its light petroleum products. This dependency stems from the shutdown of the country's largest oil refinery last year.
Other contributing factors to the rise in fuel prices include:
- Increased consumer demand
- A reduction in supply volumes and reserves
- Higher costs for logistics services
The inability to compare fuel storage conditions and capacities within Ukraine also impacts the market's pricing situation.
Consequently, the current fuel market in Ukraine remains challenging, with an underlying trend of price increases persisting despite the introduction of consumer compensation programs.
The ongoing rise in fuel prices, particularly for diesel, threatens to drive up costs for goods and services across other economic sectors, as fuel is a critical component in logistics and transportation. While the 'National Cashback' program may partially ease the financial burden on consumers, the heavy reliance on imports and constrained supply leave the market vulnerable to external shocks. This underscores the urgent need to develop domestic petroleum production to insulate the Ukrainian economy from global price fluctuations.
