Fuel Prices Climb Across Ukraine

According to Главком: As of March 20, 2026, fuel prices at Ukrainian filling stations have risen. The average cost of A-95 gasoline has reached 72.6 UAH per liter, while the average price for diesel fuel is 81.8 UAH per liter. The price of A-95 and A-95+ gasoline increased by 2-3 UAH per liter, and A-100 gasoline became more expensive by approximately 2 UAH per liter. Diesel fuel and its premium version rose by 2 UAH, and in some retail chains by up to 3 UAH per liter. The price of autogas also increased, on average by 1 UAH per liter.

Market Conditions

The highest fuel prices are offered by the Okko, WOG, and Socar networks, while the lowest prices can be found at BRSM-Nafta. It is noted that one network recorded a slight decrease in the price of A-95+ gasoline. In the context of rising fuel prices, the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine will begin an investigation into the market situation.

The country's authorities are taking measures to curb further price increases.

"The authorities will try to restrain the rise in gasoline prices," said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

He also emphasized that

"the authorities have agreed with NAK Naftogaz and Ukrnafta to help restrain the rise in gasoline prices for Ukrainians."

In addition, a cashback program for citizens when purchasing fuel at filling stations is planned, as announced by Yulia Svyrydenko.

Experts also note that fuel costs account for approximately 10-15% of the cost structure of agricultural products. According to Taras Vysotskyi, "prices for agricultural sector products may rise by no more than 1-2%." It should be noted that the price of oil has surpassed the $100 per barrel mark for the first time since 2022, with U.S. oil futures jumping 14.7%. The benchmark Brent crude reached $104.

Thus, the rise in fuel prices in Ukraine is caused by a combination of factors, including international oil prices and domestic market conditions. The authorities continue to work on solutions that could mitigate the impact of these changes on consumers.

The observed increase in fuel prices in Ukraine could have a significant impact on the country's economy, particularly on the agricultural sector, where fuel costs constitute a substantial part of production expenses. The measures planned by the government, such as introducing cashback and cooperating with oil and gas companies, may help reduce negative consequences for consumers. The Antimonopoly Committee's investigation also indicates the authorities' intent to monitor the market situation and prevent speculation.
