Blueberry prices have doubled: why farmers remain dissatisfied

Prices for berries in Ukraine have risen
Ціни на ягоди чорниці зросли, але фермери все ще незадоволені ситуацією на ринку.

According to hvylya.net: According to the APK-Inform agency, the prices for blueberries in Ukraine have almost doubled this year, but many farmers express dissatisfaction with the results.

This year's blueberry season started with a price of 300-450 hryvnias per kilogram and ended at a level of 200-270 hryvnias. During the peak sales period, the price was 100-150 hryvnias per kilogram.

Experts point to several reasons for farmers' dissatisfaction, including rising production costs, the emergence of low-quality berries on the market, a decrease in buyers due to the war, and the influence of imports. Founder of the 'Fruit Garden' company, Anna Dombrovska, explained that this year's weather conditions led to losses for Transcarpathian producers who bring berries to market first.

Ukrainian farmers expressed dissatisfaction with the rising prices of blueberries due to a number of factors such as increasing production costs and a reduction in buyers due to external circumstances. This situation may affect the agricultural sector of the country as a whole.
