BEB Leadership Shakeup: Promotions and Dismissals Under Director Tsyvinsky
Leadership Changes at the Bureau of Economic Security
According to Главком: In late January, the Director of Ukraine's Bureau of Economic Security (BEB), Oleksandr Tsyvinsky, oversaw a series of personnel changes, promoting several senior officials while dismissing others. This agency is a key body in Ukraine's ongoing anti-corruption efforts. Specifically, Serhiy Muntian, head of the Odesa territorial department, was promoted to the rank of colonel. Vitaliy Perunin, head of the Kyiv regional department, and Oleh Borysenko, a former NABU detective who leads the Chernivtsi regional department, also received promotions.
Additionally, Nazar Konstantynov, head of the capital's BEB, and Larysa Revina, head of the Volyn department, hold the special rank of lieutenant. It is currently known that two regional heads were dismissed from their posts:
- Andriy Kozyuk, who headed the Lviv BEB;
- Oleh Pakhnits, who managed the Poltava BEB.
Member of Parliament Danylo Hetmantsev commented on the promotions, noting the presence of controversial figures who continue to work in the agency. He emphasized that the issue of dismissing leaders linked to corruption scandals requires an urgent resolution.
These leadership shifts within the BEB may signal an attempt to refresh and improve the agency's operations, particularly within the broader context of Ukraine's anti-corruption drive. Hetmantsev's statement highlights that both the public and politicians expect more decisive action in this area, which could influence the government's next steps in reforming Ukraine's anti-corruption structures.
