Why the paper book and the register do not match in terms of work experience: what to do
In Ukraine, discrepancies between paper work books and electronic data on experience in registers are increasingly being recorded. Such mistakes can affect pensions and social benefits, so they should not be ignored. This is reported by “Kamianske.City”.
Work experience in Ukraine: why discrepancies arise
The main cause of discrepancies is the transition to digital accounting, which started after 2004. That is when personalized accounting of contributions was introduced, forming electronic experience.
The most common reasons for discrepancies are:
-
the employer did not submit or submitted incorrect data
-
mistakes during the digitization of the work book
-
lack of information about work experience before 2004
-
liquidation or reorganization of the enterprise
-
inaccuracies in full name, dates, or documents.
As a result, the paper work book and electronic records may show different periods of work.
Electronic work experience register: what Ukrainians should do
Experts recommend checking the data and immediately correcting them if necessary. The algorithm of actions looks like this:
-
check the entries in the work book and in the Pension Fund’s office
-
contact the employer for correction of reporting
-
submit an application to the Pension Fund with supporting documents
-
contact the archive if the enterprise has been liquidated
-
if necessary – defend the right to experience in court
Various documents can confirm the experience: entries in the work book, certificates, archival materials, or court decisions.
Experts emphasize that until the full transition to digital format, both paper documents and electronic records have legal force. At the same time, errors in the register can affect the amount of pension, sick leave, or unemployment benefits.
It is recommended to regularly check your experience through the electronic cabinet of the Pension Fund – this allows you to detect and correct inaccuracies in time.
Earlier we reported how to digitize data about experience before 2004 and include them in the register of the Pension Fund.
