Today, November 18, 2025, the Ukrainian Armed Forces celebrate Sergeant Day - a holiday for those who are the key link in combat command. Sergeants are not just commanders; they are responsible for many areas of activity in the units: from training fighters to leading the battle on the front line. This day is important for recognizing the role of sergeants and petty officers in the Ukrainian army.

The history of Sergeant Day of the Armed Forces began on April 19, 2019, when then-President Petro Poroshenko established this holiday. Since then, significant changes have occurred in the organization and training of sergeants, which is an important step towards the reform of the Armed Forces in line with NATO standards.
