Zelensky's designer explained why the president is wearing suits again
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has decided to change his style during official events. Since the beginning of the invasion, he has mostly appeared in military attire, but now he is increasingly seen in suits. The president's designer Viktor Anisimov explained that the reason for this change is related to a remark made by the First Lady Olena Zelenska.
“The First Lady pointed out that at official events they looked too contrasting - she in a protocol outfit, and he in military style. It was time to change something - so I found myself in this story again,” the designer said.
Anisimov explained that he has been collaborating with the president for over 20 years and was involved back in the early 2000s when the team “Kvartal 95” wanted to update their image. Now he is the one creating the image for Volodymyr Zelensky.
“I was tasked with creating military-style clothing in black, with a slight nod to modern cut. It turned out perfectly: black is my favorite color, the military silhouette is my style. This is how a new visual solution emerged - restrained, masculine, functional, and aesthetic,” the designer added.
Zelensky at the NATO summit in a classic suit
It is worth noting that on June 25, Zelensky appeared in a classic suit at the NATO summit, stepping away from his usual military image for the first time. This was an exceptional case since the beginning of the war when the Ukrainian leader decided to change his style.
During the meeting of Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky and U.S. President Donald Trump, there was also a sharp provocation. The American side accused Zelensky of arriving at the meeting in military clothing instead of a suit.
The change in President Volodymyr Zelensky's clothing style at official events has caused some surprise among the public and political colleagues. The designer explained that the change was prompted by the First Lady's remark and Volodymyr Zelensky's desire to look according to his position. This innovation in the president's clothing may affect his public image and relations with international partners.
