Two guards held their position near Pokrovsk for 160 days without rotation: how they survived
According to glavcom.ua: Two National Guard fighters from Rivne Region held the defense at the front for 160 consecutive days. The story of the servicemen with call signs Chef and Tequila was shared at military unit 3045 of the National Guard, located in Varash.
For six months, they endured constant shelling in one of the directions near Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region. The fighters regularly faced attacks and participated in battles with the enemy.
Combat actions and living conditions at the front
The living conditions at the front were very difficult: constant duty, limited access to water and food, moving only in darkness to avoid detection by enemy drones. They used trench candles for lighting and heating. The hardest moments were during mortar shelling when the shelter was breaking above their heads. Their survival was ensured by discipline and mutual support.
One of the fighters said: 'At the front, the most important thing is water, ammunition, medical assistance, and a comrade in arms.'
Holding under enemy fire
Chef, Tequila, and Musician remained unnoticed daily thanks to camouflage, but the enemy found their position. During one shelling, Musician was injured and evacuated, leaving the other two alone at the front. For months, they were pinched for retreat.
All of this takes place as part of the ongoing war in eastern Ukraine, where National Guard fighters demonstrate their devotion and readiness to protect the country from external aggression and internal threats.
