eYasla Childcare Subsidy Payments Begin

According to Главком: Payments under the eYasla childcare support program have now commenced. Eligible families can receive a monthly subsidy of 8,000 hryvnias, provided certain conditions are met, including the mother, father, or guardian returning to work after the child turns one year old. Special-purpose accounts for receiving these funds can already be opened at Oschadbank. Initial payments are now being processed for 1,370 individuals.

According to official information, payments for children under one year of age have already been disbursed to over 46,000 families. Since the start of this year, the monthly childcare allowance for a child under one has been set at 7,000 hryvnias. Funds received through the program can be used to pay for the services of a nanny, a childcare assistant, or a kindergarten.

New Regulations for State Birth Assistance

Furthermore, a new procedure for state birth assistance payments will be introduced in Ukraine starting January 1, 2026. A one-time payment of 50,000 hryvnias will be available exclusively to mothers who give birth on or after that date. Applications for child benefits will be possible to submit remotely, with this new service expected to launch in the near future.

Yuliia Svyrydenko noted: 'The disbursement of childcare assistance has begun. Special accounts for receiving these funds can already be opened at Oschadbank. Payments under the eYasla program are starting to be issued to 1,370 people.'

She added: 'The government is working to expand application options, including through the Diia portal. Accessing childcare support should be as simple, clear, and convenient as possible for families.'

The launch of the eYasla program and the new birth assistance payments reflect the Ukrainian government's efforts to support families with children. These subsidies, which can be used to cover childcare costs, are designed to ease the financial burden on parents returning to work after parental leave. This initiative is part of a broader push to modernize social services. The new digital application format via electronic services also aims to make the process more accessible and user-friendly.
