Ukraine has faced a 20% increase in electricity consumption due to delays in the heating season. Chairman of the Board of 'Ukrenergo' Vitaliy Zaichenko explained that this occurred due to the lack of heating supply, causing many people to use electrical appliances for heating.

The main issue is the lack of heating supply. Many consumers are currently heating themselves with electricity - using air conditioners and heaters.

'Ukrenergo' representatives hope that the launch of heating supply within ten days will help reduce the load on the energy system. In recent years, many households have become the biggest consumers of electricity, and their behavior can impact network stability.

Situation in other countries

Currently, heating season is not starting in Kyiv due to warm weather and the need to conserve gas. In Italy, this year, controls on the use of heating have been tightened due to the energy crisis. Residents face fines of up to 3,000 euros if the temperature in their homes exceeds 19°C during the heating season.

The rise in electricity consumption in Ukraine is a result of delays in the heating season. Many consumers are using electrical devices for heating due to the lack of heating supply. The launch of heating supply is expected to help reduce the load on the energy system.
