UN Secretary-General could become a mediator between Moscow and Kyiv under one condition
United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres could become a mediator between Russia and Ukraine.
But for that, the agreement of all parties is needed, reports ABC News.
'As the Secretary-General has repeatedly stated, he can act as a mediator only if all parties want him to serve as a mediator,' said UN Secretary-General's spokesperson Florencia Soto Niño-Martínez.

Earlier, Guterres commented on potential negotiations with the Russian Federation. He stated that he believes dialogue between Ukraine and the Russian Federation is necessary to achieve peace based on the UN Charter.
According to him, this means the full restoration of Ukraine's integrity within internationally recognized borders.
Recently, Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba stated that the government wants to hold a 'peace summit' at the UN by the end of February 2023. At this summit, Ukraine intends to present its peace plan, which is currently being actively refined. The summit should be led by António Guterres himself.
The Kremlin responded that they do not intend to go to negotiations on Ukraine's terms, which will present its 'peace plan' at the summit.
