Poland is set to create the deepest artificial lake in Europe: what is planned there
Coal mining in the areas of the quarries is planned to be completed in 2026 and no later than 2038. After that, plans are being made to create a unique tourist-recreational complex for Poland. The area of the artificial lake will be about 4000 hectares, and its maximum depth will reach 170 meters, making it an ideal place for diving and yachting.
In the territory of the former brown coal quarry in Bełchatów, plans are underway to create the largest and deepest artificial lake in Poland. The goal of this ambitious project is to transform an industrial region into a modern tourist center that will attract tourists, sailors, and water sports enthusiasts from across Europe. This was reported by the publication 'Glavkom.'
Plans include the construction of beaches, a yacht marina, and recreational areas that will transform the industrial landscape into a modern tourist center. Preparatory work has already begun: the coastal zone on the eastern shore of the lakeshore has already been formed, and a site for the beach has been prepared.
Wide sandy beaches, a yacht dock, and recreational areas around the lake are planned to be created. In addition, the possibility of constructing a nuclear power plant adjacent to the tourist complex is being considered to create a unique combination of an ecological recreational area and a modern nuclear power plant.
Poland plans to create the largest and deepest artificial lake on the site of the former coal quarry to transform the industrial region into a modern tourist center and attract tourists from all over Europe.
